We love cozy breakfasts. Fun and nutritious breakfasts that we can make to help our little ones start the day in the best way. Today we propose this option: a pancake with fruit in the shape of a lion. What child can resist such a delicious thing?
Ingredients for the pancake:
With this recipe you can make 6 to 10 pancakes, depending on the size.
- 2 cups of flour.
- ½ teaspoon salt.
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 3 tablespoons of sugar.
- 1 cup of milk.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- 2 eggs.
- ¼ cup butter, melted and cooled slightly
Ingredients for decoration
- whipped cream topping.
- Oranges peeled and separated into segments (2 for each lion).
- Licorice strips (1 per lion cut into 3 equal parts).
- sliced strawberries
- chocolate chips.
- Mini chocolate chips.
The first thing we are going to do is take a medium sized bowl and mix the dry ingredients, ie: flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Then, in another bowl, mix the eggs, milk and vanilla. We are going to beat the butter and slowly add it.
Take the bowl in which you have the dry ingredients and make a small hole in the center. Then pour in the wet ingredients and stir the dough so that they all mix well. Mix vigorously and let stand for about 5 minutes.
Heat an iron to about 300 degrees. Spray non-stick cooking spray or brush with butter before adding your dough so it doesn’t stick.
Pour about a cup of the mixture onto the baking sheet. Once the bubbles start to break on the surface, it’s time to flip it over. Bake each pancake for about 2 minutes until you see that they are perfectly cooked.
Place a pancake on a large plate.
Circle the pancake with the tangerine wedges to form a nice lion’s mane. Place the chocolate chips as eyes.
Use the cream to make a white base to add the whiskers, these are the licorice pieces we cut into equal parts, you can also add the mini sprinkles in this area. You can make the lion’s nose with strawberries.
